Certificates
Students who successfully attend one of our International University Language Courses (German Intensive Courses) receive a certificate which includes the following:
- length of course (from - to)
- total number of lessons attended
- achieved language level
- grading for each of the four language skills: speaking | writing | listening | reading *
- an overall grade under the following assessment headings:
1 = very good | 2 = good | 3 = fair | 4 = satisfactory | 5 = non satisfactory
Credits - according to the US educational system
In keeping up with the North American education system the University of Klagenfurt awards semester hours of credit according to the following scheme:
15 contact hours = 1 credit
Each course participant who needs credits for study or for re-certification purposes must inform the course director upon entering the course, in all cases allowing adequate time.
Note: ECTS-credits (European Credit Transfer System) are awarded for the attendence of the University Semester Courses "German as a foreign and second language" only.
Attendance certificates
In case too many lessons have been missed (min. attendance of 80%) or any other reason, for which a course certificate can't be issued, students receive an attendance certificate if requested.
*Grading for each of the language skills only, if minimum course length is 3 weeks. Certificates issued for 2-weeks-courses will only show the overall grade.
